NSFOCUS was granted the information security review work group (WG5) membership on July 1, 2007 after the scrutiny of the National Information Security Standardization Committee.

The information security standard constitutes an essential part of the national information security guarantee system, and also the primary basis for the governmental macro management. The National Information Security Standardization Technical Committee (TC260) was established in April 2002 on the approval of the National Standardization Administration Committee, in attempt to strengthen the operations in the process of information security standardization and support the development of the information security guarantee system. As a technical organization working for the standardization in the particular field of information security, the committee is responsible for making proposals on the guidelines, policies and technical measures in the information security industry for the National Standardization Administration Committee.

The information security standardization is a long-term and arduous task which covers a wide range of activities and requires intensified organization and coordination. The participation of enterprises is intended to bring to the accumulated technical knowledge in the information security industry and exert positive impacts on the research and progress of the standardization.
