On December 6, 2007, the 2nd Telecom Network Information Security Standards Forum, with the subject of “forging the construction of the security prevention system and seeking for a long-lasting security assurance system”, was organized by China Communications Standards Association (CCSA) and held by the Standards Promotion Department and Network & Information Security Technical Committee of CCSA in Beijing. As a leading company in security field, NSFOCUS was invited by the committee. Chenke, general manager of the Industrial Technical Department, attended the forum as a representative of NSFOCUS and made a speech named “Network Security: Challenge or Opportunity?”
At present, with the rapid development of information network technique and the evolution of intelligent network, soft switch, NGN, IMS, and 3G, the trends of integrating multiple networks and using more IPs, intelligentization, bandwidth, and mobilization become clearer. The telecom network also changes from a closed service system into a distributed, open structure, from dispersed dispatch control to centralized, automatic dispatch control. However, the telecom network security problems appear gradually and attract people’s concern.
In this forum, NSFOCUS proposed the “safety island” solution with respect to the transformation status of the telecom network and operators in a strategic height. The “safety island” solution can reduce the impact of DDoS attacks on fundamental telecom networks and help operators provide value-added security services for their end users. Especially, the solution can help achieve the win-win situation of telecom operators and end users as well as ensure the smooth operation of services. Therefore, the “safety island” solution wins high attention from experts and operators.
