Sponsored by China Mobile and hosted by China Mobile Research Institute, the Mobile Internet Conference 2009 (Third Annual) opened successfully on December 8 to 9, 2009 at Beijing International Convention Center. As one of the most influential technical events of the industry that takes “Ubiquitous Network, Ubiquitous Business” as its theme, this conference attracted over 2,000 experts and representatives from industrial regulatory departments, telecom operators, research institutes, communication and information equipment companies, value-added services, and technology developers. On behalf of NSFOCUS, technical manager Wan Huixing made a brilliant speech named "Roaming in Cloud and Stay Safe" in the Cloud Computing forum.
Wan addressed from three perspectives, including the new situation of Internet security, new ideas about Internet security construction, and new opportunities for operators. He points out that “Values of Internet reflected at all levels shift people’s interest focus from real economy to virtual economy. Therefore, new upcoming attack methods have been produced, endangering Internet security with new threats.” Traditional security solutions cannot fully meet users' changing needs under today's Internet business mode. Hence, new methods are required, such as reputation mechanisms, Web-based domain names, identity reputation mechanisms, as well as association analysis and digging engines, to address more, new security problems. Cloud security is an excellent choice to achieve these goals. “We can see that cloud computing has become the future direction for Internet development. Operators can take advantage of a large number of IDC computing resources to provide richer business applications for individuals and small and medium enterprises. At the same time, cloud security is an excellent application of cloud computing. There are also massive demands for this. Cloud security can be considered as a platform providing Internet users and Mobile users with services like online security scanning, traffic cleansing, Web filtering, end-point security and safe storage.”
During this conference, cloud computing and cloud security attracted overwhelming attention among enthusiastic audience. Representatives of operators, network vendors and security companies talked about their ideas, too. From point of view to model, from attempt to practice, the concepts of could computing and cloud security are being put into all aspects of the industrial chain.
